Milo

We welcomed Milo into our family on Remembrance Sunday, 2017.

He was born in August, and as far as we know he is the only survivor of his litter. We think that his mum also passed away. He was trapped under some decking in a garden and rescued by the Cats Protection.

After lots of umming and aaahing (mainly Dan, I've been on board with cat number two for two years) we decided to approach the Cats Protection and see if they had anyone that needed a home.

Milo wasn't even on the website but when the lovely inspector came for our home visit, she mentioned that she had a very small ginger Tom who was looking for a new family.

The next day we paid the inspector a visit and spent time with Milo (originally called Pumpkin!). We fell in love and he came home with us that day.

I won't lie, Jemima didn't take to him straight away and we found that really hard as she is usually such a warm and affectionate cutie. As time has gone on and with lots of patience and the occasional tactically shut door, they are getting used to each other. Not yet curling up together - and that may never happen. But they will chill out together in the same room and really that's all we can ask for.

Milo is incredibly cheeky, adventurous and a bottomless pit when it comes to food! We think that instinct to rummage through bins and dig out scraps (despite having a full bowl) is an echo of his start in life.

I hope one day he comes to learn that he doesn't need to guess where and when his next meal will arrive.
